Due to what i can only assume is congestion of product in the yard at buildabase lorries are unload at the roadside. this may have been fine in years gone by when the road did not connect to the bypass. but now there has been such vast development on Lands End Way both residential and commercial it is only a matter of time before this practise is going to result in a major incident. possibly a child walking to school being hit by a speeding car or a road traffic collision. the road its self is regularly used by speeding traffic trying to avoid the railway crossing when closed or as a shortcut to the bypass by commuters. at peak times 8-9am and 4-6pm traffic is heavy and having this additional obsticale in the road just adds to the possibly of an incident. The road should ideally have a footpath placed either side for the safe passage of walks or wider paths incorporating a cycle path and speed calming measures added. Simply the practise of unloading at the roadside should be stopped. I regularly use this road to walk, cycle and run along for both pleasure and commuting to work and at the buildabase junction you are taking your life in your own hands to get round the obstructing vehicles safely or to avoid the speeding traffic coming round them. The company block off the path to stop people walking where the forklift is working so parents and children have to go into the road to get round them, very unsafe. the hedging on the opposite side of the road gives an overhang and shadowing which on sunny days makes this area even more treacherous to navigate. When all the houses being built along the road are completed how are people to walk to town with no footpaths or cycleways? in a time when we are supposed to be reducing car ommision it seem that no thought has been put into how this could be achieved from this residential area as just from a safety point of view people will choose to take their cars making the town even more choked up with traffic. this area needs thinking about quickly and these suggestions considering thank you
