Leak is getting worse

This problem has still not been resolved on the A6003, water is still pouring down the hill towards the railway bridge and I have noticed that it is getting worse, this will become treacherous once the bad weather is here, it needs resolving now not waiting until someone has been injured or even kill.

The water running over the road (A6003) at the bottom of the hill just before the railway bridge between Manton and Oakham is dangerous. When the weather starts to get colder this will be a major safety hazard.

Water started running across the road while work was taking place in the field on the West side of the bridge, and hasn't stopped since.

Water leak is even worse now and the road is quite slippery. I have just witnessed a Harley Davison motorcycle fish tail when braking as he lost grip but thankfully he kept his bike upright. When the leaves fall off the trees or we get a frost combined with that amount of water someone could potentially die.

Now mid October and the leak remains. Surely the water company has a statutory duty to repair the fault which has existed for months. What is happening?

Still not fixed and with the first frosts due anytime now this is simply not acceptable. A family friend died many years ago on that stretch of road after skidding and hitting the bridge. This is a lethal accident waiting to happen...

Seven Trent Water have been working to fix multiple leaks for 27 days now. 3 leaks have been fixed and they are getting closer to finding the final one.

I think Severn Trent are telling you porkies about fixing 3 leaks. I drove past earlier and the leak is getting worse not better and more worryingly we had the first frost of the year today. Thank god it was a mild frost because mark my words if it was a hard frost the many cyclists, motorcyclists and car drivers that use the stretch of road are at risk of skidding and hitting the bridge. I can’t believe nothing is being done as well as a waste of drinking water, lives are being put at risk...

The 1st frost this morning and I was not happy that I had to go to work in Uppingham, knowing that the water would still be running down the hill, YOU, THE COUNCIL, need to get this issue resolve as soon as possible or you will have a death on your hands, has anyone from the council actually been and looked at the situation, Severn Trent or Anglian Water (whomever is responsible for it) needs to get there and stay there until it has been fixed, I drove passed several times when they were working on it and it went from bad to worse whilst they were there, so whoever said it had been fixed, is a liar!!!! Pull your finger out RCC and get it fixed

As the council you need to step in and do something about this! I understand the water agency have been on site for the past few months but at 5:30 this morning it was 1 degree and the water was steaming in the cold, it will wash away the grit and before long this is going to be a very large piece of ice. It is high time the council stepped in and did their own fix, possibly by digging out temporary drainage.

Am very disappointed to see that this chain has been going back to the summer, the LEAK has clearly not been fixed as per all the comments above, there will be a major accident soon as the weather worsens, YOU the council have been warned and ask to step in, PLEASE before a fatality happens can this leak be rectified or do we have to bring our own diggers and sort Drainage ourselves ?

My goddaughter works nights long after the bus service stops. She hasn’t passed her car test yet so her mode of transport to and from work is a little 50cc scooter. All throughout the summer even on hot days she has had to wear her waterproof clothing or she gets wet at the flood. This morning at 6am on her way home from work the road near the flooding was partially frozen over and very slippery as highlighted by Rutland radio and a couple of other radio stations. Her parents worry enough with her traveling to and from Oakham at night and when it’s announced as dangerous by local radio it just adds to their worries. Please fix this leak ASAP it’s dangerous and Severn Trent do not seem bothered 😕

Have just heard that Severn Trent are now saying it’s not their problem and the leak is actually drainage water from the fields. That is nonsense as when the leak started in June it was a very hot dry period with not much rainfall. Apparently it’s now been passed back to Rutland council and I’m left wondering if it will ever be fixed🙁
