Thank you for your report of water ponding in Church Street. We have previously investigated this and have found that the gullies flow into a soakaway system resulting in the water draining slower than in a traditional drainage system. From our investigations we have concluded that the water does dissipate however during heavy rainfall can cause temporary ponding but is not considered a hazard. RCC are investigating the options available for installing a replacement drainage system. This would be a large scheme and is likely to require additional funding and cannot be resolved in the short term.
