Running surface water and sunken road on Baulk Rd
Reported in the Roads and Highways category by Mrs Sue Scarrott at 20:26, Wed 23 October 2019
Sent to Rutland County Council 4 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1815226.
There are 3 different problems. First -a spring is coming up in the middle of the road resulting in a continual stream of water . This will be very icy soon and is eroding the road surface. A proper engineering solution is needed to divert the water away from the raod. Second- there is sunken area of road following work in 2018 to replace water mains. The making good was not adequate. Third - in the summer a road maintenance team filled rutted area on the edge of the road with large loose stones (aggregate). It lasted about 10 days until the next storm - it was washed to the bottom of the hill causing a loose gravel hazard (a danger for motor bikes cyclists in particular).

This morning the running water down Baulk Road had turned to black ice. This leak needs to be sorted urgently to avoid a major incident on this hill. We slipped on it this morning walking our dog.

I'm sorry, but this matter of running water on Baulk Road is far from sorted! There is still a constant stream of water running down the road. Two pot holes were filled last week but this has not stopped the flow of water. My husband and I slipped yet again on black ice yesterday and were warning cars to slow down.
