Significant flood across the entire road on the Ridlington side of the bridge over the River Chater
Reported in the Roads and Highways category anonymously at 00:19, Wed 30 October 2019
Sent to Rutland County Council 1 minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 1824591.
Suspect there is a blocked drain or culvert from one side of the road but an additional problem is the drain covers on the left hand side of the road all the way from the top of the hill at Ridlington to the bridge are either blocked, inappropriately located higher than the road surface or it seems in places, simply do not exist so the water is flowing down the road rather than down any drains. Several days after the heavy rain, the water was still flowing down the road and the deep flood remained. See photos. The drains are working well on the right hand side (downhill side). I regularly ride horses up and down the hill and have been able to assess the situation! The flood on this occasion has remained long after the heavy rain and the water running down the road was still significant 3 days later - which will create a serious accident risk once the weather turns cold.
