A47 Not draining, repeated large puddles during rainfall

Reported in the Roads and Highways category anonymously at 16:22, Sun 16 August 2020

Sent to Rutland County Council less than a minute later

The south-side footpath along the A47 opposite Main Street 14/16 gets completely splashed whenever a vehicle passes during rainfall. It has become impossible to walk there during rain, meaning one needs to cross the street (which is right around the bend, making this a bit dangerous). There seems to be an issue with drainage here. This problem has been occurring for several months now.

  • There is still two places on the A47 between Glaston Lodge Farm and the motel where there is an unacceptable amount of surface water every time it rains. I've reported this before and it's a simple task to dig out drainage channels through the verge.

  • The gully will be cleansed during annual programme of gully cleansing.
