Steep path into graveyard is slippery and dangerous

Reported via desktop in the Footway or Footpath category anonymously at 17:53, Wed 16 December 2020

Sent to Rutland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2435351.

The slabs on pathway down to the gate to the churchyard is quite steep. It has got increasingly slippery over recent years and concern from undertakers that potentially dangerous particularly when carrying a coffin. One solution may be to put some non slip sheets or treads as rerouting the pathway to make less of an incline would be a challenge.. Steps would also not be appropriate for access.

  • This enquiry has been closed because it’s been determined that it relates to an un-adopted road. Un-adopted roads do not have to be maintained by the Highway Authority (Rutland County Council) under the Highways Act 1980. A legal duty to maintain these roads still exists, but it falls to the owners (of the road) to do so.
