Flooding from manhole cover due to excess surface water

Reported via desktop in the Drainage category by Cllr Gordon Brown at 09:53, Saturday 16 January 2021

Sent to Rutland County Council less than a minute later

There has been a problem in this area for many years but has become substantially worse recently. Local residents believe it is due to BT damaging the surface water drains when then installed a new telegraph pole just south of this manhole.

  • Anglian water attended site on Saturday jetted the sewage pipes. They also confirmed that the manhole cover in the photograph is not related to sewage but is in fact part of the surface water drainage system
