Dangerous traffic levels outside Brooke Hill School

Reported via mobile in the Roads and Highways category anonymously at 09:48, Friday 23 April 2021

Sent to Rutland County Council less than a minute later

With the main road to Uppingham closed the back route through Brooke, Riddlington and Ayston is experiencing not only increased levels of traffic but a more complex mix that includes lorries and busses.. This morning , Fri 23, the congestion outside the school reached dangerous levels. I believe that without prompt action the probability of a serious or even fatal accident will increase. On the assumption that a risk assessment was completed for the increase in traffic on all the possible alternate Oakham/ Uppingham routes that might be used between now and the projected end of railway works in July I would suggest a revisit is required. To that end , I further suggest that a council observer should monitor the morning arrival and afternoon departure periods for a week to determine what action is required.
