Could I make an application for SSSI on the longitudinal drain that runs parallel to the A47 which prevents houses flooding and road conditions hazardous. I have noted that there many varieties of rare weeds of scientific interest are now growing out of the drain which is remarkable considering the habitat they appear to thrive in. When the heavy rains come imminently I expect to witness other forms of aquatic life living in close cohesion with the fauna. We are fortunate that we have parking nearby where people can walk to witness this remarkable harmony of plant, insect and reptile interaction. The increasing number of birds also drawn by this new environment and insect life have now adapted to swoop and dive very quickly to avoid very heavy traffic that thunders through the A47 and can now be distinguished by their larger wingspan, streamlined bright Day-Glo bodies super quick reflexes and huge eyes. I am quite certain this environment will: if the drain is left to its own devices will expand with flooded houses and buildings impacted with out of control vehicles.
