Lights out on Oakham Footpath E204

Reported via desktop in the Street Lighting category anonymously at 09:32, Saturday 8 January 2022

Sent to Rutland County Council less than a minute later

All but one of the lights are out on the footpath. I reported this previously, however the council reported that the path is un-adopted and not their responsibility. According to the link the council provided the footpath E204 is maintained by the council and the lamps are clearly on the footpath and not Prince George Avenue.

  • Thank you for this clarification. After some research I have determined that the series of lighting columns in question that are set out alongside public footpath E204 were erected by the Rutland Care Village developers. They are still owned and maintained by the operators of Rutland Care Village and draw their power from a residential supply to the building, unlike street lighting owned and maintained by the council. In the circumstances we have had to pass the issues you've reported over to the operators of Rutland Care Village for resolution.
