Flooded potholes on shared cycle/footpaths
Reported via mobile in the Pothole category anonymously at 14:52, Mon 14 February 2022
Sent to Rutland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3310751.
You have been doing some excellent work on the footpaths in my area recently.. There are places on separate footpaths which cause a potential danger and seem to be continually overlooked. The first is on the footpath about 400 mtrs towards Ashwell from the Enterprise Park.. The footpath dips at a field entrance and has no drainage. The footpath consequently spends much of the Winter in a flooded muddy state, forcing pedestrians and cyclists alike to walk on the road to avoid it. Clearly not the intended use of a footpath. The second is on the shared footpath/cycle track at the top of Burley Hill near to the speed limit signs. Last year a contractor dug a series of holes in the footpath.. Soon after completion the holes started to subside. The worst of which is now a deep muddy and flooded hole perhaps 4 to 5 inches deep. It is clearly a severe hazard to any cyclist that might go through it.
