This problem has not been fixed and is getting worse. Please try and drive out of Chestnut Close on to Newtown Road and the problem will become clearer. As I stated we have many elderly people on this street and it is very difficult to get out particularly when the school and starting and finishing, a lot of the parents go far too fast on Newtown Rd

I wish to endorse the concern of Gill Macduff. The roadside verge on the left of Newtown Road is now heavily overgrown. A vehicle turning out of Chestnut Close now has to advance onto Newtown Road in order to check that the highway is clear. I understand that RCC has a duty to ensure safe routes to schools and I believe that Leighfield pupils are at risk as well as local residents.

Yesterday I received an email from Harry Aston saying the overhanging vegetation was from private property, there are a couple of trees overhanging from the end bungalow but the majority of trees and bushes are on PUBLIC land. I was told to follow up if I wanted with the Highways Dept. I have contacted them to be told they no longer accept service requests and contact FixMyStreet. This is passing the buck! Myself and a neighbour have been trimming all this vegetation several times a year for many years. I am now 76 and feel this job is getting too large for me. Please revisit the site and check all the roots and trunks and then try and drive our of Chestnut. I am only trying to safeguard residents and Leighfield school children, Thank you
