Footpath flooding

Reported via mobile in the Surface Water on the Highway category by Peter Welsh at 20:37, Wed 17 August 2022

Sent to Rutland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3760085.

Once again I find myself reporting this problem. After only a brief period of rain the footpath is flooded causing pedestrians and cyclists (it is a shared footpath) to take to the road. This is clearly dangerous. The footpath at this point is the lowest point and the rain water consequently has nowhere to go. It forms part of a field entrance at this point. Raising the height of the footpath to allow the water to drain away would clearly resolve this problem.
