A manhole has had a temporary cover

Reported via mobile in the Manhole & Drain Covers category anonymously at 20:56, Saturday 12 November 2022

Sent to Rutland County Council less than a minute later

A man hole has had temporary cover over it for the best part of 18 months with a warning cone on top. It has been reported to RCC via this medium and the Parish council with nothing being done. Is it now a permanent fixture?

  • The speed limit sign where Manor Lane meets Melton Mowbray Road entering Langham is broken. The speed of cars and lorries is dangerous and unacceptable. A pedestrian crossing is needed urgently as many residents of Ranksborough Hall cross at that point, including residents in wheelchairs, manual and otherwise along with mobility scooters, along with the many dog owners and walkers etc. I have stood there when commercial vehicles have overtaken at speeds in excess of 50mph at that point of entering the village. This puts pedestrians at v significant risk! How can it be that a visual flashing warning of speed can be allowed to remain in disrepair? More and better signage is required.
