Sucken manhole cover

Reported via desktop in the Manhole & Drain Covers category anonymously at 16:55, Mon 14 November 2022

Sent to Rutland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3963710.

I reported this issue over a month ago with no repair. Tarmac around this manhole cover continuously sinks after each repair. So the metal corner of the cover are sticking out into the road. If it rains the area floods and is hidden by water, dangerous if hit by tyres. Even more dangerous if a lorry is passing on the other side so you can't avoid it.

I have lived in Clipsham for over 3 years. The issue is "fixed" but each time the tarmac sinks again. This needs investigating and fixing permanently.

  • Hi, issue with the manhole cover is significantly worse now. Tarmac around the road side edge has completely fallen away. Can you please provide an update as we are now over 10 working days since reported. I can't take a photo as too dangerous to stop.
