All surface water drains in Whissendine need clearing

Reported via desktop in the Drains/Ditches Blocked category anonymously at 15:01, Thursday 17 November 2022

Sent to Rutland County Council less than a minute later

Today's heavy rain has highlighted that the surface water runoff throughout the village is blocked. Most roadside drains are silted up or fulled with debris and leaves. The attached photographs illustrate just two of these. In heavy rain, the water runs across the highways causing a hazard, and contributes to the flooding which regularly - and currently (17 Nov 2022) - afflicts the bottom of the village by the village green. In cold weather, the water can collect and freeze causing further hazards to traffic and pedestrians. A systematic clearance of the gullies throughout the village is needed, before winter sets in any further.
