Ongoing problems with litter and lack of bins

Sent to Rutland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4014294.
I still cannot believe the amount of litter on our (RCC) lay-bys Northbound and Southbound on the A1 between Stretton and Great Casterton. Despite my numerous attempts to get these areas tidied up and intervention from our MP Alicia Kearns, there has been little or inadequate improvement to resolve the issue. So, maybe the contractor is not adhering to the terms of the contract, citing, safety of workforce as an excuse to not do the job properly, or it’s simply a cost cutting exercise to not do it at all. Please can these areas be cleared without further delay as the detritus just carries along from the lay-bys to the verges and spreads right down and up the A1. What is happening is that the contractor is merely collecting the rubbish on the lay-bys and depositing in the stupidly small bins and leaving it. So who is going to collect it from the bins? The issue of the bin size has never been addressed and there is one lay-by that has no bin at all. So come on RCC, get your act together and get our important county trunk road cleaned up. I will contact my MP again if necessary. The A1 is such a busy route through our county with accidents/incidents happening almost daily, and the lay-bys are important places for motorists and HGV drivers to pull over for a rest. And these areas are an absolute disgrace at the moment.
