Road repairs

The road outside Mayfield and Woodstock on the Cottesmore Road Ashwell at the bottom of the hill coming into the village via Cottesmore has been in a very bad state for some time due to the oversized lorries that have been traveling through the village early in the morning and late at night. Also tractors and horse boxes which of course are normal for here. There used to be a restriction on size of lorries but not sure if that is still the case. Today road repair men were outside filling in some potholes. I asked if a full repair was going to take place but they said it was too big a job for them as they were only filling pot holes and it had to be reported which I am now doing. Water is remaining in the deep ruts in the centre of the road which is very dangerous when icy. The whole road is in need of repair over the last 10 years the road had increased in width by half due to the lorries going over the grass verges then they are filled in. Within days another lorry has gone over the verges again and its back to square one. It does need repairing properly before someone has an accident when its icy.
There is also a telephone cable outside Mayfield on the opposite side of the road which has tree branches wrapped around it. I did report this before but nothing has been done about it. I hope that you will be able to help with these matters. Thanking you in anticipation of a speedy repair.
