Footpath still flooding despite council action

Reported via mobile in the Surface Water on the Highway category by Peter Welsh at 15:24, Wed 18 January 2023

Sent to Rutland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4145562.

FMS-RCC-10459. This refers to my previous complaint at this location. Your action, I'm afraid, has had little or no effect on the problem. Where the footpath floods is much lower than the height of the drain that has been dug so cannot drain away.. As I mentioned previously the height of the footpath needs to be raised to allow the water to drain away. People are still having to walk/cycle onto the road to avoid it which is hazardous. Since taking the photos the farmer has deposited mud on the footpath and adjacent road necessitating signs to be placed warning road users of the hazard.
