Grass Verge/Service Strip Dug up and Gravelled
Reported via desktop in the Kerb Issues category anonymously at 14:10, Tuesday 11 April 2023
Sent to Rutland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4425074.
The grass verge/service strip outside 10A Barlow Road has been dug up, graveled and fencing put up, this is a conservation area and requires reinstating, all dog walkers used this area which was the only grass strip on this conservation side, now up to 5 vehicles are parked on it at any one time, it looks like a car park, along with waste bins outside rather than in their respective gardens, not a good look for Barlow Road residents and not in keeping with conservation regulations,

May I suggest that, working with Oakham Town Council and Oakham In Bloom, planters of appropriate size would be a welcome addition to the verge. It would be of benefit to the many elderly flat residents in Barlow Road who no longer have gardens and brighten up what is an eyesore.

This is an excellent idea. Renovation work has been going at these properties for a while now and cars/vans are pulling half on the land and half on the junction corne due to the number of cars parked here. Not only is this a highway hazard, pedestrians, mobility scooters & pushchairs are having to go on the road to get by. Neighbour of Deans street.

This property, although it is on Barlow Road, may have a Northgate address from 10 and 10 A Northgate, 10 is the old shop and 10A is a flat with the only access on Barlow Road,
