Lack of transparency by RCC

Reported via desktop in the Drains/Ditches Blocked category anonymously at 10:59, Thursday 4 May 2023

Sent to Rutland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4516084.

The Council has closed this problem with the following statement, twice:

"We have assessed your report and the repair of this defect has been added to our programme of works. IMPORTANT: To report anything dangerous, please call us on: 01572 722577"

This is patently incorrect and so one assumes it is an automated response.

1. Operatives have been on site and conducted works to repair a fault.

2. Machinery has been on site to examine the drains with CCTV and has found other problems in addition to this one.

3. The operatives have informally explained what they have found and done.

4. Transparency, good governance and common courtesy suggest that RCC should provide a clear explanation about what has been found, what has been done and what is going to be done.
