Zebra Crossing Required
Reported via desktop in the Crossings Beacons category anonymously at 17:27, Monday 5 June 2023
Sent to Rutland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4634778.
With the increase in traffic through Great Casterton and cars and lorries coming through at speed, it is extremely dangerous for pedestrians to have no safe crossing points on the main road in the village. Something MUST be done about this before someone gets hurt.

Despite the automated communications from the RCC, there was no update whatsoever from them and further, I have little faith that any investigation has taken place. Given the very high council taxes we pay, I would expect better communication from the RCC and a modicum of concern for the health and safety of the community.

Have to agree with the individual that raised this issue, many vehicles that drive through the village do so at speed and this is particular dangerous at the cross roads near the school. I think a zebra crossing or some other speed restriction initiative should be implemented before someone is injured, or worse killed.
