Severely overgrown hedgerow on pavement near school

Reported via mobile in the Trees or Vegetation category by Stephanie Quintrell at 11:41, Monday 18 September 2023

Sent to Rutland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5004654.

The hedgerow is severely overgrown and encroaching on the footpath so much so that it is unusable. These are brambles so are causing injuries. As a wheelchair user taking my son to school, the brambles are face height to me, as they are to most children attending Edith Weston school. Having to walk my 6 year old son to school using the road is highly dangerous and totally unacceptable. These reports have been logged prior to the start of the school term and should have been dealt with before the children returned to school. The zebra crossing the children should be using is situated half way down this pavement, so they can’t even safely access the crossing to cross over to school.
