15 Inch pothole growing rapidly

This pothole is in the only road into and out of Aldgate and is growing rapidly

  • It is now much bigger a the road around it is crumbling.

  • As you can see, this problem is now significantly worse and as shown in the third image, the other side of the road has also degraded further. In FMS-RCC-15155, RCC replied: We have now inspected the area and our assessment is that no action is required at this stage. The issue reported will be considered as part of the planned programme of work that Rutland County Council carry out.

    This is very disappointing. It seems that today, lines have been drawn around the main one (see images) so perhaps this will repaired after all? I truly hope so. This is substantial hazard for vehicles and pedestrians in a low-lit lane that is the only entrance/exit for many properties.

  • I would also like to point out that this is the only pedestrian access out of the village to the West. This is clearly a major trip hazard and consequently I look forward to its repair in short order. Thank you.
