Blocked roadside gullies

Reported via mobile in the Surface Water on the Highway category anonymously at 13:24, Thu 22 February 2024

Sent to Rutland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5615309.

The roadside gullies along the B1081 from approximately the junction with Sidney Farm Lane down to Great Casterton are blocked and have been for many months. These gullies have been marked several weeks ago with yellow arrows but remain blocked. The water cascades down the B1081 and runs into Toll Bar and creates flooding. Additionally the excess water runs down over the blocked gullies and down into Great Casterton. It is not the fact the gullies are overwhelmed with the volume of water it is due to them being blocked. I understand that the council is keen to address flooding issues in the community, and I believe that regular clearing of roadside gullies is a crucial aspect of flood prevention measures. This issue needs to be addressed. Thank you.
