Missing 30 mph roundel on the approach to Empingham travelling west on the A606
Reported via mobile in the Damaged Traffic Calming Feature category anonymously at 17:17, Fri 10 May 2024
Sent to Rutland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5957485.
As ward member for Normanton, I have been asked by Empingham Parish Council to raise the issue of the missing 30mph roundel on the A606 that should be on the left side of the carriageway approaching Empingham heading west (please see the attached photo which I took recently). I appreciate the difficulties that Highways is under at present but I understand that it was reported last November and being on a main road approaching a village there is possibly a safety issue. Replacement of the roundel would be appreciated by Empingham Parish Council acting on behalf of their residents.

This still has not been done and I think it is a safety issue as we have a speeding problem on the A606. I believe you are waiting for the national grid to put in the electrics or fix the electrics first but please can you hurry this along as the sign needs replacing urgently.

We have now inspected the area and our assessment is that no action is required at this stage. The issue reported will be considered as part of the planned programme of work that Rutland County Council carry out.
The issue will be considered alongside other projects and requests and will be prioritised accordingly.
We cannot provide a timescale for a resolution or confirm that this will be rectified. We do combine individual works under our programmed works, for instance gully cleaning.
The report has been closed.
If the problem gets worse and creates more of a risk to the users then this request can be raised again
