Dangerous parking

The double yellow lines between Constables and the sports centre car park have disappeared, possibly when that part of the road had new tarmac. There are often several cars park along that part of the road in front of the bus stop, probably by users of the sports centre. This makes it difficult to go up that part of the road towards Lime Tree Avenue as you have to overtake the parked cars and with cars pulling out of the car park and Lime Tree Avenue it makes visibility difficult and dangerous.

No progress or even discussion about this since first raised. The problem is now worse than ever with SUVs parking across the dropped curb making it impossible to see traffic coming. There will be a serious accident despite numerous "Fix my Street " reports than the Council ignore!!

There were 5 vehicles parked on this stretch of road yesterday, having to try to overtake them while vehicles are also trying to get out of the Uppingham School Sports centre car park was quite dangerous as traffic is also trying to get out of Limetree Avenue. There has been no update despite actually speaking to someone from the Council on Uppingham market last week about this problem which has been going on for a long time.

When will this be sorted or at least a response to previous complaints? Cars parked there today and a car pulled out from the sports centre car park right in front of us as it couldn’t see round the parked cars, luckily we were going slow so avoided an accident

Could you please advise what is being done about reinstating the missing double yellow lines near to the Uppingham School Sports centre to stop vehicles being parked on that part of the road? I first raised this in July 2024 and there has been no response at all.
