S shaped ‘trough’ forming on carriageway
Reported via iOS in the Cracked or Damaged Road Surface category anonymously at 09:30, Fri 2 August 2024
Sent to Rutland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6306537.
On the carriageway from Oakham to Braunston opposite the turning for the kitchen place, a large s shaped pitting has formed causing vehicles to swerve to avoid it. It’s been there for several months now and doesn’t appear to be changing. If it’s still there in winter when the road surface isn’t as visible it will cause an accident.

I see that this has previously been reported and closed with ‘no further action’ needed. Further action is needed. It’s a zig-zag depression and is a serious hazard to bikes and motorbikes - if a tyre were to go into it the rider would have great trouble trying to control their vehicle and could easily result in an accident.
