Foot bridge flooding

Reported via mobile in the Surface Water on the Highway category anonymously at 09:42, Tue 22 October 2024

Sent to Rutland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6644068.

This is a continuing problem since the resurfacing of the foot bridge. These photos were taken 6 hours after moderate rain stopped. 3 of the level sections are affected but this is the worst area. The foot bridge is in even greater use due to the Brooke Road closure and it's not pleasant picking your way through dirty water. It is taking days to drain away. This has been reported on several occasions.

  • Today not only flooding on turning platforms but also upper levels are snow and ice covered with no hand rails on top level it’s a lethal underfoot for pedestrians - should it freeze again over night there will be accidents it needs gritted or salted and the water issues above need addressing - you have mini road sweepers and gritters ensure they are used
