Water coming through cracks in road for four months, turning to ice and crating risk of accident.

Reported via desktop in the Drains/Ditches Blocked category anonymously at 16:03, Thursday 9 January 2025

Sent to Rutland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6957793.

This blockage seems to be a reoccuurence of an issue last year five mts up the hill. It stopped for the months in the summer following a repair but reappeared as soon as the weather turned wet late last year. The blockage seems to have moved down the hill on an old road drain, it is breaking out through the road, the freezing weather has made a situation of a wet slippery crossing point and access to a property now dangerous as it is slippery.

  • Last night the water coming through the road surface created dangerous condition for pedestrians, cyclists and motorists as the water froze. I note from the above response of RCC ‘that this will be actioned over coming months’ . Action and a response is needed quickly before someone is injured … It appears that the problem is related to the drain repairs carried out in late summer 2024 just a few meters further up the road!
