Damaged road
Reported via desktop in the Cracked or Damaged Road Surface category anonymously at 18:28, Thursday 9 January 2025
Sent to Rutland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6958504.
The damage to this part of the road is twofold. The debris from the storm and damaged surface has already been reported. The additional issue is the road edges. The surface has eroded forming gulleys that cause a driving hazard, reducing the width of the road on a stretch which is already uncomfortably narrow. There has been more heavy traffic of late including lorries and construction vehicles for the housing development. This has probably caused or worsened the problem and the vehicles' presence on this narrowing road is a danger.

The debris on this part of the road washed down to this point by all the recent bad weather represents a risk of damage to vehicles and, has created an unsafe road surface.
Some of this debris has been pushed to the side and is mounding up on the edge of the carriageway, this in turn is forcing drivers away from the edges and in many cases, on to the opposing carriageway.
