Trench has dropped exposing edges to road users

Reported via mobile in the Cracked or Damaged Road Surface category anonymously at 13:57, Thu 20 February 2025

Sent to Rutland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7162810.

I drove over and walked over this trench today, filled in over pipe work. And the trench infill has dropped exposing hard edges from the road. When driving over at 30mph this feels like hitting a kerb.

  • The trench across the road outside the new housing development on Stapleford Road on the edge of Whissendine is dangerous for cars and even more so for cyclists. Appalling road surface which has dropped creating a gash across the road, presumably because it wasn’t done properly in the first place!
