Potholes not repaired
Reported via desktop in the Pothole category by Anne Barton at 09:01, Tuesday 5 August 2025
Sent to Rutland County Council 1 day, 7 hours, 51 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 7980333.
This stretch of road is littered with potholes, which have been reported for several years and most recently in March 2025. Yellow markings were made that seemed to indicate the whole stretch would be repaired, The incident was closed and I see absolutely no evidence of any repairs. It is almost impossible for us to drive in and out of the road next to it without wheels getting caught in the potholes.
I will remind the council, once again, that the builder of the new houses leading off this area paid a CIL - so I would expect any damage done to the roads by the builder would be repaired from these monies?
Also, the farmers use massive heavy vehicles up and down this road, which again destroys the surface. However, we pay our road tax, council tax and all other taxes in abundance and we expect a road that we can use without damaging out vehicles.
I will be looking at putting in a claim for any damage to our cars.

I would like to be present when someone comes to inspect the area and be present when/if it ever gets repaired.

Hi, We had a road closure notice, which refers to closure on 14th and 15th August. However, the notice on the street refers to 13th and 14th August. Also, it's not clear what the access arrangements will be.

Closure notice

The notice for a road closure is not for works associated with the potholes, edges of road missing and craters. I have been reporting issues with the stretch of road known as Moor Lane, Whissendine (immediately off Station Road) for several years now - most recently in March 2025 and no action has been taken. Residents are clearly not happy, especially as CIL monies were paid by the builder and we all pay our taxes. We would like to drive and walk safely on the stretch of road please.
