Tree fallen fruit is becoming a hazard for pedestrians

Reported via mobile in the Trees or Vegetation category anonymously at 09:29, Thu 14 August 2025

Sent to Rutland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8023500.

I’m reporting this on my neighbours behalf. The tree is on council land and not been cut back for a long time. The crab apples fall every year and are usually swept up by the people who live near the tree but he has passed away and it shouldn’t be a resident’s problem to sort: Tha apples are on a path to to the school and if not dealt with become slippery. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Updates

  • The situation is worse and school starts on Thursday of this week. The tree needs to be felled (and replaced with something more appropriate ie no fruit) or cut back severely. The fruits are a hazard - people including children can fall and injure themselves and fruit will end up in the drains clogging them up.
