Highways bowl and pipe drain choked and Road flooding

Reported via desktop in the Flooding/ Drainage category anonymously at 22:03, Thursday 11 September 2025

Sent to Rutland County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8154461.

The bowl and pipe gullies are choked with grit and retained sediment. The grit is from the flooding earlier in the year. The pipes, which discharge to the brook, need rodding through. The light rain during the day on 11 September caused Main Street to flood halfway across because the water could not escape via the gullies. The brook was running low and capacity was not the issue, neither is this an autumn leaf problem.
