Blocked drain pipe or soakaway.

This Drain Cover is marked up for being raised, along with a large amount of yellow paint further along Staion Road suggesting works on the road surface are being prepared. This Drain cover should take water to a drain on Main Street, which is blocked further down the Hill.

It has not flowed down the Drain here for years. It may be that this drain is not connected to a pipe and is an old style Soak away.

In either case, the water does not go down the drain,so raising it is pointless unless it is going to work, perhaps fix the fault and then re surface the road, seems logical. Or just remove the drain cover and fill the hole.
